puppy life skills (15-20 wks)

Puppy Life Skills runs as a 6 week course with enrolment on weeks 1 and 4.  With the slightly older pups we aim to support you with trouble shooting suggestions, creating great management plans and helping you cope with the distractions of the outside world.

Your class will have a maximum of 4 puppies with two trainers to help you get the best possible start to living with your puppy.

Your pups will already be going out on walks, so loose lead walking is likely to be a big goal. We concentrate on this, and creating a reliable recall right from the first class to make sure you can put your new skills into practice. We’ll be training inside the hall and out in the real world so come dressed for the weather!

Your puppy should be 15 to 20 weeks to start this class

You will learn how to:

  • teach nice lead walking
  • get a rocket fast recall
  • handle mouthing/nipping
  • stopp toileting accidents in the house
  • teach sit/down/stay/drop
  • teach good manners to your pup

You can start with this course if you have a slightly older puppy, or you can enrol as a follow-on course if you have completed our Puppy Foundations programme

What I'm sure the boys would like to put is:
"WE LOVE YOU MORAG!" - Jake Dog and Mr Oliver

....but a more practical response would be: Before we met Morag we were at breaking point with our Border Collies, we had been to every training class we could find, we had done everything the dog books tell you to and we were still losing the battle for our dogs' minds.

Morag has given us practical techniques, productive classes, insightful one-to-ones, useful resources, moral support and hope!

Having come through the confidence course 1 & 2 and enjoyed the Beyond the Basics, heel work to music and Rally-O we are carrying on to learn more and can't wait for the next set of classes to start. We would (and often do) recommend the Well Connected Canine courses to anyone with any kind of dog.

Who says you can't teach a old dog new tricks? Our Jack Russell is 5 and had had no training, after just a few weeks she had a whole repertoire of new tricks. Edwina goes with my partner to work everyday so I don't get to spend much time with her. Morag's classes are our fun hour of the week where she enjoys learning new things with mum and seeing other dogs. Thanks Morag we'll see you at the next classes.
