puppy foundations (8-14wks)
Right now your puppy is small and adorable. She probably comes running when you call her but she hasn’t quite gotten the hang of always peeing outside. And those evening crazy times are something else. Who knew puppies had so many sharp teeth?
When the world seems full of ‘experts’ telling you what to do, it helps to have an experienced trainer on your side. We help you figure out what you really need to teach your puppy right now before she learns any more bad habits.
Your class will have a maximum of 4 puppies with two trainers to help you get the best possible start to living with your puppy.
Rather than sitting on a waiting list for weeks, why not enrol right away so you can start as soon as we have a space. Our rolling programme and restrictions on the age of attending pups means you won’t be waiting long to start in class.
Your puppy must be aged 8 to 14 weeks to start this class
You will learn:
- how to handle mouthing/nipping
- house training
- good manners
- basic training (sit, down, wait)
- dropping and swopping
- nice lead walking and more.
Supervised play sessions are part of every class where possible, and you'll learn how to encourage your pups to learn appropriate social skills.
We welcome pups from their first vaccination onwards (all adult dogs in other classes are fully vaccinated) and encourage owners to register as soon as possible.
Keen to Start? Are you waiting for your puppy to have their first vaccinations, or has your puppy not arrived yet - you can still start attending classes as a spectator. Please contact us for details!
Puppy Foundations offers 6 weekly lessons plus additional online support material. You may join the course in any week where there is space.
Fees: just £165 which gets you
- 6 weeks of small group teaching

What I'm sure the boys would like to put is:
"WE LOVE YOU MORAG!" - Jake Dog and Mr Oliver
....but a more practical response would be: Before we met Morag we were at breaking point with our Border Collies, we had been to every training class we could find, we had done everything the dog books tell you to and we were still losing the battle for our dogs' minds.
Morag has given us practical techniques, productive classes, insightful one-to-ones, useful resources, moral support and hope!
Having come through the confidence course 1 & 2 and enjoyed the Beyond the Basics, heel work to music and Rally-O we are carrying on to learn more and can't wait for the next set of classes to start. We would (and often do) recommend the Well Connected Canine courses to anyone with any kind of dog.

Who says you can't teach a old dog new tricks? Our Jack Russell is 5 and had had no training, after just a few weeks she had a whole repertoire of new tricks. Edwina goes with my partner to work everyday so I don't get to spend much time with her. Morag's classes are our fun hour of the week where she enjoys learning new things with mum and seeing other dogs. Thanks Morag we'll see you at the next classes.
